Our houseboats<\/b>\u00a0<\/span>are in one the best locations in the famous Dal Lake facing the famous Shankaracharya hills & Boulevard. The first Kolu House Boat, ‘Shellane’ was built in the year 1940 by Mohammad Kolu. In the year 1944, two more special class houseboats, ‘Shabash’ and ‘New Shallanne’ were built in the Dal Lake by a joint venture of four Kolu brothers. The four brothers’ joint venture consisted of Ahmed Kolu, Jumma Kolu, Ghulam Qadir Kolu and Mohammad Ramzan Kolu.<\/p>\n

In the year 1962, the first Deluxe Luxury Houseboat was built in Kashmir that was named as Pride of Kashmir which earned a lot of fame and is still a pride to the owners. Kolu group of houseboats is an epitome of the family bond. The management through the years is being taken over by the following generations.
